FORD. A new system, called Local Hazard Information, will even be offered as standard and free for the first year of Puma ownership, Ford says.

The LHI helps drivers prepare for and possibly avoid potentially dangerous situations on the road.

When those who preceded encounter a traffic jam or an accident, the following driver – and possibly no visitor – receives the relevant warning.

The trigger for the LHI system activation is provided by some functions of the front vehicles, such as the activation of airbags and alarms. Until now, previous traffic alert systems were based on the input of information from the same drivers.

In contrast, Ford’s “Local Hazard Information” has the ability to operate autonomously, without the need for driver interaction, to generate the information and issue relevant warnings.

In practical terms, imminent hazards only appear in the form of warnings on the dashboard only if the incident or road condition can affect the driver’s journey.

LHI technology, already offered as standard and free for the first year at the new Ford Puma, will extend to almost the entire Ford range by the end of the year.
