Lotus Evija Makes Dynamic Debut.Tests of the powerful Lotus electric car continue at a steady pace. The stunning Evija is in the second phase of development, with testers writing endless rounds on Hethel’s track.

The car pictured at the video is one of three prototypes used in the tests. Of course, the body is completely camouflaged, and as revealed by Gavan Kershaw, a senior executive and tester, there are no electronic systems or torque vectoring in the vehicle they use.

Their purpose is to evaluate the chassis, suspension and other mechanical components without the presence of auxiliary systems.

This way, they will be able to see how the car really behaves on the road, take advantage of the basics and realize its potential.

“What we want to achieve is to create a complete hypercar that will move with the same comfort at 50 and 320 km / h. We know the torque is huge, but drivers only need it when they dip their foot in the throttle. So the perfect balance has to be found. We work on all the pieces. Every single step we take. It’s exciting how a car can evolve, ”said Gavan Kershaw, among others.

Recall that Evija will be produced in just 130 units, with the starting price set at 1.9 million euros.

The electric set of the world’s most powerful production car delivers 2,000 horsepower and 1,700 Nm of torque, with the first 100 km / h being achieved in less than 3 seconds and 0-300 in about 9΄΄.

To accelerate from 100 to 200 km / h take no more than 2.9 seconds, with the driver and front passenger stuck to their seats up to 320 km / h, whereby the needle of the connector terminates electronically.
