Toyota Yaris. The new generation of top-notch supermini has been unveiled with Toyota announcing the car’s key specifications and launch time.

The new Toyota Yaris sits on the newer GA-B platform, slightly shorter in length and height but wider in width and wheelbase. Its appearance is more dynamic and sporty, with sharp corners, aggressive grille, dynamic illumination and a more muscular rear.

The cabin has been fully upgraded, including a color touchscreen on the center console, digital instrumentation in front of the driver, huge 10-inch head-up display, independent air conditioning on the bottom of the console, wireless charging position for the cellphone, new and high quality investments.

Complete is also the safety package, with Toyota enriching the Yaris with all-wheel-drive systems, offering active cruise control, central airbag extending between driver and passenger, automatic braking and much more.

Thanks to the increased wheelbase and width, the rear seats are better.

The driver sits lower, reinforcing the sporty feel the company wants to deliver, with the luggage compartment having a capacity of 286 liters and a double floor.

As for the engines, the company only referred to the 1.5 Hybrid Dynamic Force hybrid, as it believes 80% of buyers in Europe will opt for the hybrid version. The 1.0- and 1.5-liter petrol engines will be available in specific European markets.

The hybrid system consists of a 1,500-hp three-cylinder petrol engine and a 59 kW electric motor delivering more than 100 hp.
