Cars with electric motors offer several advantages over combustion vehicles. They convert more energy into motion rather than heat because there is less driveshaft friction, deliver more 0-60 torque and quickness at lower speeds, and better monitor and adjust control systems with software just to name a few. The Tesla P100D and Porsche Taycan Turbo S have put the automotive world on notice, delivering high level design and performance in an all electric package. These two electric super cars are industry leaders with their impressive specs, so let’s see how they compare against eachother.

The first model of the Tesla S P100D was released in June 2016 and since then this amazing EV has been improved on all levels, Elon Musk’s goals being to deliver a consumer sedan that’s as fast and powerful as many combustion sports cars, and obviously powered only by electricity. With ludicrous mode engaged, the P100D unleashes all of its power and accelerates so quickly that you’ll have to be careful not to break your neck.

On the opposite flank comes Tesla’s rival, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, an all-electric that has nothing to do with the word ‘turbo’ because there is no turbine, but the name sounds cool and is on brand for porsche. Developed during the past few years and ready to take off in early 2020, the Taycan is Porsche’s take on a fully electric super car, everything from the design to the handling and interior trimmings reminding us of their other established models, but without the gasoline fed engine.
